Very Busy Summer

This has indeed been a very busy summer.  Personally, I coached a championship softball team, of which my daughter was the pitcher. We got to take a much, much needed vacation to a delightful cabin on East Grand Lake in Danforth, Maine. And, most importantly, spending as much time with my children as possible.
Professionally, in […]

A double secret suicide watch for the Virginia Democratic net nut roots?

By From http://www.imsurroundedbyidiots.com • Aug 22nd, 2008 • Category: Blog Entries.Local

MSNBC is saying that the pointy-haired boss of Virginia (Tim Kaine) has been told he will not be Obama’s veep choice.
Of course, depending on which blog you read on the Democratic side, (e.g., Not Larry Sabato) they might be cheering this announcement.
Maybe one of Tim Kaine’s grandparents is Jewish and we all know how the […]

Obama: You know what’s great? ChiCom infrastructure.

By From http://www.imsurroundedbyidiots.com • Aug 22nd, 2008 • Category: Blog Entries.Local

From National Review Online:
Obama, yesterday: “Everybody’s watching what’s going on in Beijing right now with the Olympics, Think about the amount of money that China has spent on infrastructure. Their ports, their train systems, their airports are vastly the superior to us now, which means if you are a corporation deciding where to do business, […]

Who Is The Best Wine Writer in the US?

By From http://kybecca.blogspot.com/ • Aug 22nd, 2008 • Category: Blog Entries.Local

My pick hands down would be Eric Asimov from the NY Times.
Not only is his writing clear and concise but he always manages to get the story behind the wines. His articles are always a mix of people, place and how the wines taste. He includes the food editor and local sommelier to conduct tastings and the web interactive feature offered online with the articles are just stellar.

Crisp, Refreshing and Greek is his latest. kybecca happens to have his top pick as well.
