Note to self: Stay the hell out of Stockton, CA.
ABC10:
The Stockton man who wants to put a militia on the streets if police layoffs happen, said he’s got 270 people signed on to help.
“They’re going to have rifles, shotguns, pistols–whatever they get their hands on,” said 66-year-old Alan Pettet. “We’re not going to go out […]

Banana Receives Stafford Speeding Ticket

By From http://www.andrewflusche.com • Apr 14th, 2009 • Category: Blog Entries.Local

Today a banana was summoned to appear for a Stafford speeding ticket. Not quite like that, but it was still pretty funny.
I was sitting in the Stafford General District Court for my client’s reckless driving ticket. The judge was calling cases and hearing them just like a usual day in court.
Then a Virginia State Trooper […]

CNN Godwins its own story

In this case, they may have a point. The Homeland security report about right wing groups is much ado about nothing. The government keeps an eye on ELF and the more extreme left wing groups. It really shouldn’t be a surprise when they watch the right to.
Of course, in conservative speak, watching the right […]

Update on Stafford County homeschooler that was “abducted”

By From http://www.odonnellweb.com • Apr 14th, 2009 • Category: Blog Entries.Local

I wrote about this story last year.
It turns out there was nothing there. The judge dismissed the charges against Matthew Borowski after the prosecution rested it’s apparently laughably weak case.
As you would expect, the original charges were much bigger news than the exoneration. I only know because Matthew emailed me about it.
My […]

World Record Attempt at kybecca

By From http://kybecca.blogspot.com/ • Apr 14th, 2009 • Category: Blog Entries.Local

Last Saturday a local home brewing and beer tasting group, the Fredericksburg Area Brewing and Tasting Society took part in an attempt to break the record for the world’s largest toast. The event was sponsored by the Campaign for Real Ale, a group based in the UK. I was a witness along with an employee as Guiness requires two witnesses to validate. It will take some time to figure out if the record was actually broken, we’ll let you know. If so this will be the first world record broken at a kybecca location. Click here to read the story in the Free Lance Star.

If anybody else needs a venue to break a world record our function room at our Plank Road store is available for hire.
