The century mark!

By From http://fburg-weather.blogspot.com/ • Jun 24th, 2010 • Category: Blog Entries.Local

At 2:38 this afternoon Shannon Airport registered a temperature of 100 degrees F with a dewpoint of 77.  Any way you slice it that’s hot!  Tomorrow’s forecast high of 91 will feel like a refreshing spring day in comparison!  We’re also u…

Catching up, getting ready

By From http://stormsrus.blogspot.com/ • Jun 24th, 2010 • Category: Blog Entries.Local

I need to write up Tuesday’s (6/22) chase before I chase this afternoon, as a cold front is kicking off a line of storms that is approaching from the northwest.  Anyway Tuesday’s setup looked good for mid-afternoon as two of the local models showe…

As the market changes, so does the way we handle certain transactions.  I have updated the Foreclosure section of Sarahiously Speaking to give more up-to-date information about the foreclosure process in Virginia and purchasing properties at the courthouse steps and purchasing REO properties.  I hope you find the new information useful.  And, as always, feel […]

Christian Yoga – A Spiritual Experience

By From http://www.pointsinmylife.com/ • Jun 24th, 2010 • Category: Blog Entries.Local

About eight weeks ago, I decided that since I do not like the setting of a big Health Club, I would try, for the first time, a six-week Christian Yoga series through my church. I knew there would be a limit on how many people could attend and I knew it…

We recently had our niece’s boyfriend spend the weekend with us. This wonderful young man is in the Navy and stationed nearby. Before his arrival, I contacted my niece to ask what his favorite desserts are and she said “anything with chocolate and pean…

Very quick recap of today

By From http://stormsrus.blogspot.com/ • Jun 22nd, 2010 • Category: Blog Entries.Local

(a) I did chase…twice.(b) I saw a probable funnel on one storm and called in a rotating wall cloud report on another (the northern warned storm shown below with velocity data – yes it was rotating.)(c) I blew one of my own chasing axioms:  never…

What are Food Points, and How Do I Use Them?

By From http://www.pointsinmylife.com/ • Jun 22nd, 2010 • Category: Blog Entries.Local

Before I started keeping track of what I ate, a friend talked to me about how many “points” they consumed everyday. I was at a loss by what they meant by “points”, but after learning about the point system it made a lot of sense to me. It has helped me…

Brewers Association Interview with Chris Burcher of Wolf Hills

The Brewers Association recently posted an interview with brewer Chris Burcher of Wolf Hills Brewing in Abingon, VA. In the interview Chris relates a problem any new brewery would probably envy; too much demand. Wolf Hills had to pull out of most resta…

SPC agrees with Tuesday

By From http://stormsrus.blogspot.com/ • Jun 21st, 2010 • Category: Blog Entries.Local

The Storm Prediction Center has extended their Slight Risk area further east and south to cover most – if not all – of my chase areas, so it would seem that they agree with me on the potential for severity tomorrow (that sounds a bit pompous written li…

Excellent Article on Fake Rare Wines

By From http://kybecca.blogspot.com/ • Jun 21st, 2010 • Category: Blog Entries.Local

Via Vinography I read this great article in Slate about fraud in the rare wine collecting business.

Frankly I’m not surprised. I’m not a fan of wine collecting anyway. All this business about 1947 Chateau Latour or 1981 Cheval Blanc is really about vanity, not great wine. I don’t judge what people do with their money, but it just contributes to the stereotype of wine snobbery that keeps so many people from enjoying wine.
