Is this week over yet?

Skip had a 103.4 fever, which is quite high for a horse. In the absence of any other symptoms, the Vet suspected anaplasmosis, which can kill a horse in a matter of days. (Anaplasmosis is a tick borne bacterial infection). So he started Skip on antibiotics and Bute immediately. The blood test results should be in today. Skip’s fever was down to 100 this morning, so it appears as though all will be fine.
2. Then last night Breck snapped his best foil in two at practice.
3. When I went to turn out the lamp to go to bed, the lamp switch broke off in my hand.
If the bad things happen in threes saying holds, we should be good for a while.
On a related note, we haven’t had a prolonged snow covering for several years around here. Ticks are still active, which is not really normal. We could use a six inch dumping of snow and a prolonged week of sub freezing temps to go with it just to thin the insect herd a bit.
