Chrysler Closing 789 U.S. Dealerships; Locally, Fredericksburg and Northern Neck Dealerships Get Axed

As part of its restructuring Chrysler LLC, the maker of the Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep nameplates, has announced it will close one-quarter of its U.S. dealer network (or 789 stores). Earlier today, all 789 affected franchise owners were notified in writing.

Chysler LLC has announced that Ted Britt Chrysler Jeep in Fredericksburg and Davis Chrysler Jeep on the Northern Neck will close while Safford Dodge has been spared the axe.

Chysler announced that dealerships in Fredericksburg and on the Northern Neck will close.

Locally, Ted Britt Chysler Jeep in Fredericksburg and Davis Dodge Chrysler Jeep in Kilmarnock (on the Northern Neck) got the bad news that their relationships with the nation’s number three auto maker had been severed.

Safford Dodge of Fredericksburg was not included on the list of dealer closings. What remains undetermined is whether Safford Dodge will get to sell Chyslers and Jeeps and service those brands.

Sad day.
