Sunshine on the way, but then?

Now that the lazy coastal low is finally meandering on to the north and east we should be able to break into some consistent sunshine the next few days. A cold front is forecast to come through Tues/Wed, but it will bring a repeat of a cold air damming wedge (northeasterly winds, drizzle, overcast...) until Thursday night. Friday should provide a respite from those bleak conditions, but a quick perusal of the long range models hint at yet another New England-based high pressure system setting up, which usually portends MORE cold air damming given the northeasterly winds generated off the cool ocean water. We can only hope that bright blue September skies will win out and give us some typical Mid-Atlantic fall weather.
