I think we’re done with storms tonight. We dodged a bullet but Ruckersville, over in Greene County, reported hail 4.25 inches in diameter. Even more, it covered the ground and was six inches deep!

Condos propping up Richmond housing market

Style Weekly reports that condo sales represented 19% of sales in the first quarter of 2008 in Richmond. That’s definitely an interesting figure given that this area’s largest (and only new) condo project (in which I live) has been scrapped.

Governor’s Transportation Town Hall Meeting Thursday, June 19th

Drowning in the Rapphannock

Local media reports that a 17 year old boy with a Maryland church group drowned in the Rappahannock River today about 2:30. Stafford County and City of Fredericksburg officials are searching the river for his body.



Fredericksburg police officer killed

Keith Epps at the Free Lance-Star reports that Officer Todd Bahr was killed by a suspect late last night with one shot to the head.  The suspect then later turned the gun on himself after a shootout with officers.  Officer Bahr’s body was not found until 15 minutes after the shot.
