A new SurveyUSA poll of Virginians give President Obama an approval/disapproval rating of 55/35, up from 54/42 a month ago.
Moderates give him a 65/30, while conservatives give him an rating of 30/65. Obama’s at 90/7 among self-described liberals.
He’s also at 60% or better in every region except the Shenendoah, where he’s polling 43/39.

The President is expected to name former Mississippi Gov. Ray Mabus as his nominee for Secretary of the Navy. In addition to his time as Governor, Mabus served as U.S. Ambassador to Saudi Arabia in the Clinton administration. Past Navy Secretaries include Jim Webb and John Warner.
