According to Vivian Paige, the 1st CD Democrats have selected Bill Day to run against Congressman Rob Wittman following the withdrawl of Keith Hummel from the race.
Day ran against Del. Scott Lingamfelter last year in the 31st District, which includes parts of Fauquier and Prince William Counties.

Who Would Vote for a Celebrity Over an Annapolis Grad?

By From http://fred2blue.wordpress.com • Aug 4th, 2008 • Category: Blog Entries.Local

Republicans, that’s who.

Celebrity Ronald Reagan first ran for President in 1968, just a little over one year into his time as Governor. Celebrity Arnold Schwarzenegger? He was given a prime-time speaking slot at the 2004 GOP National Convention the day after he was elected Governor of CA, he hadn’t spent a single day in office.
By the way, […]

All 15 of them. This is a week after that same location, Pepper’s Grill, drew 250 people for a faux Chippendales performance that has the local cougar community up in arms.

Rob Wittman Twitters

By From http://fred2blue.wordpress.com • Aug 4th, 2008 • Category: Blog Entries.Local

Like John McCain, Rob Wittman is aware of the internet. He’s now twittering from the House Republicans publicity stunt in DC.
A constituent likened this situation to the Apollo 13 crisis — NASA put everything on the table to fix the problem.
Yeah, that makes……uh, total sense?

John McCain or George Allen?

By From http://fred2blue.wordpress.com • Aug 3rd, 2008 • Category: Blog Entries.Local

He was against making Martin Luther King’s Birthday into a holiday, defended South Carolina’s use of the confederate flag, and hired Jesse Helms’ right-hand man as his chief strategist. No that’s not George Allen’s record, it’s John McCain.
Today on Meet the Press, Joe Lieberman said of John McCain, “This man does not have a bigoted bone […]

You Want Dan Quayle? I’ll Give You Dan Quayle…

Rep. Eric Cantor has made McCain’s short list for runningmates and is currently being vetted according to the Associated Press.
Check out this story from NLS about Cantor’s 2002 campaign. If this isn’t Dan Quayle, I don’t know what is:
Eric agreed to debate ONE time in his safe seat. A few minutes before the debate a large binder […]

Tim Kaine as Dan Quayle? I’ll Take It.

By From http://fred2blue.wordpress.com • Aug 2nd, 2008 • Category: Blog Entries.Local

Full Disclosure: I don’t believe for a second that Tim Kaine will be nominated for Vice-President this year.
And if he is? So what.
Now the National Journal*, in their infinite wisdom, is describing Kaine as potentially the next Dan Quayle. Uh, OK. Dan Quayle got elected Vice-President, last time I checked. You know how Vice-President Bush trailed Dukakis by […]

Keith Hummel Withdraws

By From http://fred2blue.wordpress.com • Jul 31st, 2008 • Category: Blog Entries.Local

Finally Dr. Hummel does the right thing. Now all we need to do is convince someone else to run against Rob Wittman in the 1st.

Conservation Scorecard: Area Legislators Stand Out

By From http://fred2blue.wordpress.com • Jul 30th, 2008 • Category: Blog Entries.Local

The League of Conservation Voters gave Sen. Edd Houck of Spotsylvania a score of 100% for the 2008 session, the highest of any Senator in the VA General Assembly. The Northern Neck’s Del. Albert Pollard, not surprisingly, recieved a 100% as well.
As for Richard Stuart? He recieved a respectable 78%, the second highest score of […]

Category 5 ObamaKaine

By From http://fred2blue.wordpress.com • Jul 29th, 2008 • Category: Blog Entries.Local

As we speak, Gov. Kaine’s political stock is off the charts with rumors abound that Barack Obama may select him as the Democratic nominee for Vice-President. There are obviously many pros and cons to an Obama/Kaine ticket. On the plus side, both Virginians and Catholics are swing voters. Plus, he’s young and an outsider in […]
