Leave it to the folks at Legoland in California to depict the Obama Inauguration…IN LEGO.

Lego people lucky enough to have gotten Lego inaugural tickets from their Lego Members of […]

A once-formidable specialty retailer with Virginia roots has bit the dust.
This morning, Richmond-based Circuit City announced that it has asked for Federal bankruptcy court approval to shutter its 500+ remaining U.S. stores and sell its inventory.
From the story posted to CNNMoney.com:

The company said the (liquidation) sale would begin Saturday and run until March 31, pending court […]

With just hours to go, we can say with certainty that the end of an (error) is upon us.
And thanks to Gan and the rest of the mirth makers at Goodnight Bush, here, is the George W. Bush Presidential Librarium!
Two lines, no waiting!
But you might want to stay away […]

FL-S Editorial: Don’t Expand Absentee Voting

By From http://fred2blue.com • Jan 15th, 2009 • Category: Blog Entries.Local, Media.Local

My rantings directed at the FL-S have been too far and too few in between.
Since F2B started clogging up The Internets in November, 2007, there seem to have been some improvements in story coverage, fact-checking, and photo captioning at Your Hometown Newspaper.   And the editorials, while sometimes obnoxious, have not been altogether inflammatory.
A ko-inky-dink, we’re […]

Brother, Can You Paradigm?

By From http://fred2blue.com • Jan 13th, 2009 • Category: Blog Entries.Local

A fortnightly rant FL-S style with a tardy note to teacher (for being a day late, and a dollar short).
My career for the past 11 years has been recruiting people for executive work assignments.
It’s not much of a career right now.   In the month of December, I fielded on average 6 calls per day […]

By From http://fred2blue.com • Jan 11th, 2009 • Category: Blog Entries.Local

What follows is not a Fred2Blue endorsement, but rather that of the author and Immediate Past Chair of the Stafford County Virginia Democratic Committee.
I am very proud to say that I support Jody Wagner for the Democratic Party nomination for Lieutenant Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
All that I have read and heard about Jody has impressed me, […]

Gov. Kaine Reacts to Obama Economic Recovery Plan

By From http://fred2blue.com • Jan 8th, 2009 • Category: Blog Entries.Local

Earlier today, Gov. Tim Kaine reacted to President-elect Obama’s Economic Recovery Plan:
“I was pleased to join President-elect Obama today as he announced his proposed economic recovery package.
“Virginians, like the rest of the nation, face a challenging economic landscape. Hardworking families and businesses have had to tighten their belts as they look towards an uncertain future. […]

Moran Campaign: Win a Ticket to History…

By From http://fred2blue.com • Jan 7th, 2009 • Category: Blog Entries.Local

NOTE: Fred2Blue has not endorsed a particular candidate for Virginia governor; however my personal endorsement of Brian Moran for Governor was posted here.
Earlier today, the Moran for Governor campaign announced a new grassroots organizing program with a very interesting incentive: the chance to win coveted inauguration tickets.
From the campaign:
This January 20th, America will make history.  We’ve […]

Gov. Tim Kaine to be Next DNC Chair

By From http://fred2blue.com • Jan 4th, 2009 • Category: Blog Entries.Local

Mike Shear at WaPo just broke the story.
What a great selection!  Congratulations, Governor!
UPDATE (by Chris):
Perhaps the most stunning political achievement was Obama’s victory in Virginia — the first time a Democratic presidential candidate has won the commonwealth since Lyndon B. Johnson in 1964.
That was in part the result of forces that Kaine had nothing to […]
