F2B Exclusive: Shocking Vandalism of Obama-Biden Sign In Spotsy

By From http://fred2blue.wordpress.com • Oct 25th, 2008 • Category: Blog Entries.Local

On Thursday evening, an Obama supporting family in the Partlow section of Spotsylvania County allowed the Spotsy Democratic Committee to place this 4×8 foot Obama-Biden on their property.

Not surprising, it didn’t take long for the sign to be vandalized.  But in both content and magnitude, the multiple acts of vandalism done to this family’s sign are truly sickening.
Spotsy Dems Co-Chair Opal Stroup […]

A “Checkers Speech” for Sarah Palin

By From http://fred2blue.wordpress.com • Oct 23rd, 2008 • Category: Blog Entries.Local

A fortnightly rant, FL-S style (VOGUE Bulldog Edition):
Much has been written and discussed at water coolers across this great land about Sarah Palin’s $150,000 high-fashion boondoggle.
And goodness knows this blogger has gotten a lot of mileage from it.
Still, there’s been hardly a peep from the Alaska Governor about the clothes purchased for her and her family by the Republican […]

Zamboni Hussein Palin

Back in the day, many parents would use 2 time-tested criteria to name their little bundle of joy.
First, the child’s full name – when bellowed by an irate parent – would need to send shivers down Junior’s spine.  Road-test this one:
“Rudolph William Giuliani, I am going to start counting and if you are NOT in the […]

Saks Fifth Avenue: Where “Real America” Shops?

By From http://fred2blue.wordpress.com • Oct 22nd, 2008 • Category: Blog Entries.Local

…with a h/t to Mr. Blackwell (R.I.P.)
What’s up with this:  a $150k shopping spree for Gov. Palin at Saks Fifth Avenue, Barney’s of New York, Atelier, Nieman Marcus, and Bloomingdales?
Courtesy of the Republican National Committee, the candidate making repeated claims that only her ticket represents “real America” just souped up her wardrobe at several of the most-elite […]

F2B Exclusive: Laurie Williams’ New Dog-Behavior Column (Ask Laurie!)

By From http://fred2blue.wordpress.com • Oct 20th, 2008 • Category: Blog Entries.Local

D’s and R’s aren’t the only groups to experience difficulty getting along.
In the U.S., there are millions of dog-lovers.  At some point, all will experience difficult canine behavior or dog/human interaction problems.
So we’re pleased that Laurie Williams – F2B’s newest blogger, nationally-known canine behaviorist, successful local businesswoman, and star contestant (with her Maltese Andrew) of CBS’s Greatest American Dog – […]

You Know Times Are Tough When…

By From http://fred2blue.wordpress.com • Oct 20th, 2008 • Category: Blog Entries.Local

…Ed McMahon goes viral.
The famous former Tonight Show announcer was long known to be a savvy investor, someone that knew how to make a buck. (You think he did all those Alpo commercials for the fun of it?)
Ed was just fine until he got under water on his residential mega-mortgage. Times are tough.
So, now. Ladies and […]

McCain Flack Defines “Real” Virginia

By From http://fred2blue.wordpress.com • Oct 18th, 2008 • Category: Blog Entries.Local

McCain flack Nancy “But I Live In Oakton” Pfotenhauer being interviewed on MSNBC borrows one from the George Felix Allen playbook.
To paraphrase the FL-S: Damn Yankee Locusts!
It’s gone from the ridiculous to the absurd!

F2B to FLS Editorial Staff: Surprise Us!

By From http://fred2blue.wordpress.com • Oct 17th, 2008 • Category: Blog Entries.Local, Media.Local

A fortnightly rant, FL-S style (halftime show). With a h/t to Patty for Mr. Bug Eyes.
Chris’ post last week, recalled that today (October 17) marks 4 years since the FL-S published a completely ironic endorsement of George W. Bush for President.
From the editorial:
He will, we judge, persevere in Iraq and in the larger conflict with neo-barbarism. The country’s economic […]

And the Top 3 Presidential Debate Kodak Moments Are…

By From http://fred2blue.wordpress.com • Oct 16th, 2008 • Category: Blog Entries.Local

…coming in at number 3, from the first debate of the 1960 general election campaign, Vice-President Richard Nixon’s washed-out looking gray suit and infamous 5 o’clock shadow.

…at number 2, during the third debate of the 1992 general election campaign, President George H.W. Bush impatiently checks his wristwatch…

…and now (drumroll) from the 3rd debate of the […]

Last Night’s Final Job Interview

By From http://fred2blue.wordpress.com • Oct 16th, 2008 • Category: Blog Entries.Local

Like all political debates, last night’s episode was viewed by many as Barack Obama’s and John McCain’s final presidential job interview.
As an executive recruiter by profession, I was struck by how the three presidential debates seemed like any one of thousands of job interviews for which I have presented executive candidates.
And I’ve caught myself wondering what Obama’s and […]
