On June 30, Moore crashed his ATV on his farm outside of Charlottesville, but was discharged from hospital and returned to his Los Angeles home to begin physical therapy. Complications […]

Superman

A fortnightly rant, FL-S style.
I just cannot believe my eyes.
Michael Phelps has just won his seventh gold medal, for the 100 meter “fly” in one of the craziest medal events in Olympic history.  With just 5 meters to go, and in second place to Serbia’s Milorad Cavic, Phelps extended his unbelievably long arms forward just enough to […]

A fortnightly rant, FL-S style (and good gracious what an awful song).
Kudos to the Commonwealth of Virginia for once again being named by forbes.com the best place in the nation for business (2008).
In announcing its pick, Forbes editors cited the Old Dominion’s favorable business costs, regulatory and economic climate, growth prospects, quality of life […]

Prince of Darkness Hits Pedestrian (Film at Eleven)

By From http://fred2blue.wordpress.com • Jul 23rd, 2008 • Category: Blog Entries.Local

It was a really bad day for syndicated columnist Bob “Prince of Darkness” Novak.  While driving his black Corvette on K Street in DC, he clipped a pedestrian.
In the words of Little Richard:  “LOOK OUT!”
Novak was caught completely unawares.  A bicyclist stopped the DC political pundit, alerting him to what had happened.
Pick up the truly remarkable raw feed from WJLA-TV here:

Let’s Do It: Draft Bruce R. Hornsby for Congress in Virginia’s First District

By From http://fred2blue.wordpress.com • Jul 23rd, 2008 • Category: Blog Entries.Local

UPDATE:  Not a peep out of Bruce from W’Burg.  Not yet.
Folks, I just cannot take it anymore.
The fact that we find ourselves in the mess that we’re in – here in Virginia’s First Congressional District – is just unbearable.
The current nominee for Congress, Keith Hummel, is (among other things) saying that he’d step aside – withdraw […]

Lynchburg Paper Slams Va. House Republicans on Transpo

By From http://fred2blue.wordpress.com • Jul 20th, 2008 • Category: Blog Entries.Local, Media.Local

First it was the FL-S giving the Virginia House Republicans a shellacking for its abdication of leadership during the special session on transportation.
And now from The News & Advance, Lynchburg Va.’s daily, comes an equally scathing editorial.
Here’s a snippet:
But those with egg on their faces are neither the governor nor the Democrats who control the […]

Dealing With My Inner-Barton Fink

By From http://fred2blue.wordpress.com • Jul 19th, 2008 • Category: Blog Entries.Local, Stafford

A fortnightly rant, FL-S style:
Maybe it is the state of lethargy brought about by successive days of extreme heat, humidity and code-red ozone; or the seemingly endless demands of family and work.  Perhaps it was the stress-inducing moment early Thursday morning when – out of nowhere – a kamikaze deer bolted across Mountain View Road in central Stafford County […]
