FL-S Editorial Gets it Right (Did We Say That?)

By From http://fred2blue.wordpress.com • Jul 13th, 2008 • Category: Blog Entries.Local, Media.Local

You know the state of things must be really dire when Fred2Blue finds itself in total agreement with the editorial board of the FL-S.
In a scathing editorial in today’s edition, the FL-S places the blame for the transpo meltdown in Richmond squarely on the shoulders of the Republican majority in the Virginia House of Delegates.
From the editorial, there’s this:
However […]

WaPo Editorial on Transpo: Failure Lies Squarely With Va. GOP House Leadership

By From http://fred2blue.wordpress.com • Jul 11th, 2008 • Category: Blog Entries.Local, Media.Local

DON’T BE fooled by the parliamentary razzle-dazzle and the gush of obfuscatory recrimination pouring forth from Richmond this week. The failure of Virginia’s lawmakers to provide the first new new source of funding in a generation for the state’s aging transportation network lies squarely with the Republican leadership in the House of Delegates.
And so begins […]

UPDATE: FXBG Area Duo to Compete on CBS-TV Show, “The Greatest American Dog”

By From http://fred2blue.wordpress.com • Jul 10th, 2008 • Category: Blog Entries.Local, Spotsylvania, Stafford

UPDATE from Dan:  What a kooky show, chock full of odd-ball dog owners.  Laurie and Andrew stuck out of the pack because the duo is, comparatively speaking, so…normal.  That may be why they were not featured as well as the other pairs, in last night’s series debut or in the doggie talent show (oh, I kid you […]

Children’s Classic Retold as…Goodnight Bush

By From http://fred2blue.wordpress.com • Jul 8th, 2008 • Category: Blog Entries.Local, Spotsylvania, Stafford

I don’t suppose we’ll see this parody of Margaret Wise Brown’s children’s literary classic, Goodnight Moon in the stacks at the Rappahannock Regional Library, any time soon…

…so, here’s a taste:
In the situation room
There was a toy world
And a flight costume
And a picture of –
A refinery plume
And there were war profiteers
giving three cheers
A nation great
A church […]

F2B Exclusive: July 4th Weekend Holiday Crash on I-95 (UPDATE)

By From http://fred2blue.wordpress.com • Jul 6th, 2008 • Category: Blog Entries.Local, Stafford

UPDATE by Dan:  On Monday, July 7, Pamela Gould of the FL-S reports that the I-95 crash shown below was in fact a fatality.

There was a nasty accident at approximately 1:30 P.M. today on I-95 northbound in Quantico. My friend, Stuart Katz of Florham Park, N.J. was just a few cars behind this […]

Send In The Clowns

By From http://fred2blue.wordpress.com • Jul 4th, 2008 • Category: Blog Entries.Local, Spotsylvania, Stafford

…don’t bother.  They’re here!
A fortnightly rant, FL-S style…with a h/t each to “Big Eyes the Klown,” Stephen Sondheim, and the late Larry Harmon, once known to kiddies across the U.S. as “Bozo”.  Harmon died yesterday at the age of 83:
My best friend’s dad is a Klown.
No, really…
His dad is a Shriner Klown, you know, the folks who maniacally drive […]

Bushism Alert: June 24, 2008

By From http://fred2blue.wordpress.com • Jun 24th, 2008 • Category: Blog Entries.Local

Today at the White House, President George Bush addressed President Gloria Arroyo of the Philippines, and said:

I Am Reminded Of The Great Talent Of The – Of Our Philippine-Americans When I Eat Dinner At The White House.”
Why does he always?

Skies over Stafford

By From http://fred2blue.wordpress.com • Jun 23rd, 2008 • Category: Blog Entries.Local, Stafford

We had today what seemed like the seventh or eighth straight day of fierce afternoon weather. This afternoon’s storm has blown through, leaving these amazing cumulus-nimbus clouds behind in the eastern sky.
This shot was taken just before sundown. Enjoy the view!
