Hope versus Fear

Author: From http://www.odonnellweb.com • Oct 26th, 2008

“Whatever else history may say about me when I’m gone,” said Reagan, “I hope it will record that I appealed to your best hopes, not your worst fears.”

if anything demonstrates how far the Republican party has strayed from the party of Reagan, it’s this quote. Obama appeals to the best of humanity, McCain the worst. And when you add in the imbecile that McCain picked for VP… Actuary tables give McCain between a 15 - 22% chance of not surviving his term in office. That’s a 1 in 5 chance of Sara McCain as President of the United States.

That is something we should all be afraid of.

Sarah Palin Coming to VA Next Monday; Stops Include Fredericksburg

Author: From http://rappahannockred.wordpress.com • Oct 22nd, 2008

Sarah Palin will “barnstorm” tour Virginia this coming Monday. According to the McCain-Palin campaign, her third trip to Virginia, Palin will start her day with an event in Leesburg at J.R.’s Festival Lakes, then zip on down to the City of Fredericksburg’s Hurkamp Park, and finish her day with a stop in Roanoke at the Salem Civic Center.

Yes- Sarah Palin is coming to Fredericksburg folks! I’ll bet we get 26,001 people to attend it too if the Free Lance Star has anything to say about it…. because they strive to be balanced and all…

Colin Powell vs. 300, Who Wins? McCain of Course!

When Powell first resigned his post in 2004, we knew something was up between him and his Republican allies in the White House.  I never thought he go as far as to endorse a terrorist affiliate though.  Having been a successful military leader and a favorably viewed secretary of state, his endorsement to Obama is nothing short of shocking to most Republicans.  He obviously has an axe to grind with the GOP.

One wonders if any margin of Obama supporters even know who he is though, as survey after survey reveals that America’s most ignorant people are supporting Obama for reasons that are nothing more than popularity and stardom, not policy.

It’s more likely that Matt Damon’s endorsement of the Marxist Messiah meant more to people than Colin Powell’s did.

But in case military endorsements mean something to Democrats, I present (for the second time) a list of 300 retired (active duty may not endorse) United States Generals and Admirals who are endorsing John McCain for president:

“We have had the honor and privilege of serving as career officers in the United States Armed Forces, and of serving shoulder to shoulder with so many of the fine young men and women who are the backbone of America’s Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and Coast Guard. It is that experience that informs our judgment that John McCain is the presidential candidate best suited to serve as America’s Commander-in Chief from the day of his inauguration.

“Our next president will confront national security challenges as significant as those faced by any administration in at least a generation. Success will require a leader with proven tenacity, judgment and courage. It will also require a leader with detailed knowledge of our military and other instruments of national power, and with years of experience dealing seriously with foreign leaders.

“John McCain’s entire life has been devoted to the service of America. Throughout a long and distinguished career in the military and in Congress, he has repeatedly displayed the courage and integrity to place America’s interests first — regardless of personal cost. And he has demonstrated the experience and wisdom to lead America — and, importantly, our allies — in effectively dealing with complex and vitally important national security challenges around the world.

“We unequivocally endorse him to continue his service to the country as the next President of the United States.”

Powell on McCain

Author: From http://www.odonnellweb.com • Oct 19th, 2008
   Category: Blog Entries.Local, Politics

I’m also troubled by, not what Senator McCain says, but what members of the party say. And it is permitted to be said such things as, “Well, you know that Mr. Obama is a Muslim.” Well, the correct answer is, he is not a Muslim, he’s a Christian. He’s always been a Christian. But the really right answer is, what if he is? Is there something wrong with being a Muslim in this country? The answer’s no, that’s not America. Is there something wrong with some seven-year-old Muslim-American kid believing that he or she could be president? Yet, I have heard senior members of my own party drop the suggestion, “He’s a Muslim and he might be associated terrorists.” This is not the way we should be doing it in America…

Exactly. With Powell “out” I expect we’ll see a few more prominent Republicans endorsing Obama over the next week or two.

Who wants to be the first one to leave the “it’s just because Obama is black” rationale in the comments?

Spotsylvania County’s “Tom the Antiquer” took these for you from his first political rally ever attended! I met Tom last night when he purchased a Victory 2008 McCain T-shirt from our county committee especially to wear to the rally.

Folks like Tom are coming out of hibernation in Virginia– and across America– to vote for McCain-Palin who have otherwise sat the past few elections out. Working men like Tom the Antiquer and Joe the Plumber know that more than just an election is at stake this time… indeed, our national sovereignty and children’s future will simply be in better hands with McCain

Obama: The Eternal Victim and Where He Gets It From

Author: From http://rappahannockred.wordpress.com • Oct 16th, 2008
   Category: Blog Entries.Local, Politics

20 years of radical church pulpit preaching and a few formative years of Muslim schooling in Kenya before, mixed with radical left-wing Illinois political methodology, and the Obama lineage produces: “The World’s Most Eternal Victim”.

Without expecting to be called a racist, bigot or right-wing religious nut, when it comes to Barack Hussein Obama:

  • You can’t criticize his affiliations with anti-American terrorists of the past or present.
  • You’re not allowed to mention his being unqualified to lead.
  • You can’t say his fiscal ideology is poisonous to America’s financial health.
  • You can’t say his pro-abortion stances are radical.
  • You can’t say his wife is an anti-American radical.
  • You can’t label him a Harvard elitist.
  • You can’t mention he’s half-black (or half-white) even when he brings it up first as if it makes him somehow more insightful to the rest of us.
  • You can’t speak of where he was born and how being born in a foreign country disqualifies him to become president.
  • You can’t mention his having zero executive experience.
  • You can’t say he has zero military experience.
  • You can’t call him out-of-touch with mainstream America (unless you are also half-black, went to Harvard, have no executive or military experience and are a lawyer and from Chicago)

…because it isn’t fair to pick on Obama. Ever.  He’s the messiah (according to his supporters and the news).  And you are a hateful, evil religious nut Republican if you say otherwise.

I’m sorry Mister Obama, if your record can’t stand up under scrutiny, along with your actions, promises, history, qualifications and ideology.  You don’t get my vote, and you won’t get Virginia’s.
